My name is Kara (she/they) and I am so happy you are here; reaching out for help takes bravery. I believe therapy is a place where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered to be your authentic self. My clients have described me as a safe, warm, and empathetic presence, traits I have continually fostered throughout my work as a therapist. Life is full of both wonderful and painful moments. These experiences may shape who we are, how we interact with others and the world, and may leave us feeling stuck. I deeply care about being a support and resource for you as you work towards the life and relationships you want. We are all trying to do our best, but sometimes we need help to move towards the life we want. I believe in the strength and resilience within you, and I am here to help you tap into that power.
Learning is a huge joy of mine, so I am continually seeking opportunities to grow and expand my knowledge as a therapist. I have experience and training in a variety of therapy modalities including IFS, ACT, DBT, and EFCT. I’ve had the privilege of assisting clients of all ages in navigating relational issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, life-transitions, and more. I’ve also worked in high acuity mental health settings with teens, as well as boundaries counseling for children and adolescents. I value a collaborative approach to therapy, recognizing you are the expert of your own life and story. This space is also sex-positive and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, where you can feel safe and supported as you are.
